ESI Registration

It is a vast social security conspiracy designed to achieve the goal of providing social protection to the "employees" in the organized sector against the general events of disability, illness, maternity, and death simply due to injury sustained in the course of employment as well as to provide medical care to the guaranteed employees and their dependents.

In the event that medical care is not sufficient to restore a person's health and ability to work, the plan provides all eligible employees with comprehensive medical care. It provides financial assistance to compensate for lost wages during periods of time away from the workplace due to childbirth, illness, and workplace injuries. Also covered by the plan are the dependents of the employees.

Within 15 days of the ESI Act, 1948 becoming applicable to them, all formations and factories with more than 10 employees are required to voluntarily register for ESI registration.
